Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel/Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Old Dominion Freight Line. As a Diesel/Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for building, rebuilding, and repairing all parts of company equipment as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other breakdowns or failures to motor trucks and related equipment.
- Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multimeters, calibrators, and other electronic diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of component parts and systems on trucks, truck tractors, trailers, or converter dollies.
- Use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete truck repairs.
- Apply knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Diesel Truck Maintenance Degree preferred.
- 1 year of truck repair experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of most systems located on a truck or truck tractor, semi-trailer, or converter dolly.
- Ability to work in extremely hot or cold climates.
- Ability to read precision instruments and troubleshoot component parts and systems.
- Ability to provide one's own tools to perform maintenance work.
Working Conditions:
Shift and hours to be determined. Work days and shift are estimates and subject to change based on job scheduling and business levels.
