Paramedic Role Overview

The Paramedic position involves delivering exceptional emergency medical care and patient transport services. Responsibilities include assessing call situations, utilizing advanced medical equipment, and leading emergency response operations. A California Paramedic License is required, along with relevant experience in emergency response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures, including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
  • Act as a team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow Paramedics.
Other Key Tasks:
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Required Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • A Ca Drivers' License
  • An Ambulance Driver's License from DMV
  • A Medical Examiner's Card from DMV
  • A State of California Paramedic License
  • A CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider)
  • ACLS Card (American Heart Association ONLY)
  • A driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy
  • ICS courses: IS-100B (ICS 100), IS-200B (ICS 200), IS-700A (NIMS), IS-800B (NIMS)
  • Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired.

Compensation and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $27.14 to $51.08 per hour, depending on experience. The position also includes a sign-on bonus with full-time employment. Other benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401k, disability, FSA, HSA, EAP, vacation, and paid time off. The medic salary range applies to 12-hr shifts and an average of 20 or 49 hours per week. This position is bonus eligible.
