Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic

Join the Orange County Sheriff's Office, FL, as an Aircraft Mechanic and contribute to the maintenance and repair of our agency's aircraft. As a key member of our aviation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft.

Job Summary

The Aircraft Mechanic will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on agency aircraft to ensure they are airworthy and meet regulatory requirements. This includes performing tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements, as well as more complex repairs like engine overhauls and avionics system installations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on agency aircraft, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs on aircraft systems, including engines, avionics, and electrical systems.
  • Perform complex repairs, such as engine overhauls and avionics system installations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Valid Florida driver's license and ability to operate agency vehicles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining and repairing Bell 206/ 407 Models and Cessna 172/ 182/ 206/ 208 Models.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization.
