About the Job

As a Lead Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist at Houston Methodist, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality imaging services. This position serves as the liaison between management, staff, and physicians, resolving routine matters and providing guidance on imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special exams, and vascular ultrasound exams.
  • Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures, including sterile technique.
  • Assess, identify, and respond to patient needs to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
  • Serve as the primary resource for staff in all areas of service, providing feedback to management on team member performance and conduct.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure seamless communication and comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement activities, conduct quality audits, and provide feedback to management on team member performance.
  • Participate in department projects and shared governance activities, and lead special projects and department initiatives.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
  • Four years' experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, or three years' experience with leadership abilities.
  • RDMS-OB, RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, ARRT-SON, ARRT-VS, RVS, RVT, and BLS certifications.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
