Role Overview:
- Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the LPN delivers direct patient care in alignment with established standards and practices.
- Assists in patient assessment by gathering relevant data for RN analysis.
- Implements care plans, including specimen collection and wound management, and may administer medications as prescribed.
- Engages patients and their families in the care process, addressing psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural needs.
- Supports patients in daily living activities such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
- Monitors and documents patient conditions, effectively communicating changes to the RN, physician, and family members.
- Acts as an advocate for the patient's overall health and emotional well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal communication skills related to nursing practices.
- Accountability for performing delegated nursing tasks.
- Ability to provide nursing care tailored to the assigned patient demographic, utilizing the full nursing process.
- AHA BLS certification is required; PALS certification preferred if applicable.
