We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians with various procedures performed in the Cath Lab, ensuring optimum patient outcomes while achieving patient and family satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining the medical stability of the Cardiac Cath Lab patient throughout the procedure by monitoring vital signs, hemodynamic pressures, and cardiac rhythms, reporting any deviation from normal to the physician.
- Function as assistant to the physician during diagnostic and interventional procedures and pacemaker implantation, maintaining sterile technique.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to professional staff, particularly when patient is in pain or discomfort. Provide patient education pre and post procedure.
- Participate in the maintenance of the clean, safe, and sterile environment by setting up the appropriate instruments under the sterile techniques for designated procedures.
- Participate in data collection to document compliance with regulations and measure the quality of patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records during procedures.
- Participate in activities to improve patient and family satisfaction.
- Monitor patient outcomes by participating in Performance Improvement activities.
- Maintain own professional competence through continuing education and participation in hospital education opportunities.
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Radiology Technologist/Cardiovascular Technologist school graduate or equivalent required.
- BLS through American Heart Association required.
- ACLS through American Heart Association required.
