Senior Inspector

Position Overview

We are looking for skilled Inspectors to perform routine construction inspection services on various projects, including bridge, roadway, and rail road repair, replacement, and new construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of company standards, plans, and New York State DOT specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine construction inspection services under the supervision of a Chief Inspector or Resident Engineer.
• Take and document detailed measurements for payment, supervise material testing, and notify supervisors of issues and potential deviations from plans and specifications.
• Work with contractors to resolve minor issues without guidance and maintain detailed records of work and measurements for payment.
• Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
• Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to supervisors or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.

Requirements

• Desired 5 years related experience, or similar position with experience in the construction field and transportation projects.
• NICET Level III certification or successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam required.
• Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree a plus.
