Job SummaryThe Texas A&M AgriLife Research is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a team of scientists to quantify the phenotypic basis for superior performance of inbred and hybrid rice cultivars and potentially cellulosic crops, and to optimize cropping systems productivity and profitability. Additionally, the candidate will provide Macintosh hardware/software technical support and collect and process sewage facility samples to determine water quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments, crop production, and management, including data analysis, writing technical reports, and developing PowerPoint presentations.
- Provide technical support for Macintosh hardware and software.
- Collect and process sewage facility samples to determine water quality.
- Perform other related duties as required or directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biological science or related field.
- Two years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in biological science or related field.
- Six years of cropping systems experience.
Working Conditions
The AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Beaumont is located on approximately 940 acres of land. The successful candidate will be provided with space, a computer, and a printer. Funding for this position is provided on an annual basis, contingent upon excellent performance and continued generation of funding support.
