OBJECTIVE

Our Science educators collaborate tirelessly with their colleagues to ensure that all students engage with scientific inquiry and methodologies, enhancing their comprehension of the natural world while adhering to established educational standards. This vital work is supported by administrative guidance, ongoing feedback, teamwork, data evaluation, and targeted interventions for students who may be struggling.

We are looking for Chemistry educators who are adaptable, diligent, and continuously seeking to enhance their teaching practices to better serve their students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute comprehensive lesson plans and units that cater to the diverse needs of students, ensuring alignment with educational standards and appropriate assessments to measure understanding.
  • Engage in bi-weekly coaching sessions to refine content knowledge, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators in a supportive learning environment, participating in grade-level and content-specific teams, as well as professional development opportunities throughout the academic year.
  • Fulfill school-related duties, which may include student conferences, managing transitions, supervising lunch periods, and other responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate is passionate about nurturing young scientists, enjoys working with students requiring additional support, is adaptable, open to coaching, and eager to grow professionally.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of two years of teaching experience, though not mandatory.
  • Experience with diverse student populations or in urban educational settings is advantageous.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Candidates must possess either (a) a valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate endorsement for Chemistry, or (b) a valid out-of-state license that can be transferred to Tennessee within 90 days of employment, or (c) be on track to complete the necessary certification steps in Tennessee.
