Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to support the UNC Health Lenoir Sports Medicine Program and UNC Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Lenoir outpatient clinic. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide high-quality care to student athletes and support the mission of UNC Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning services to student athletes
  • Support local high school athletic programs through screenings, on-field treatments, and triaging of injuries
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, athletic directors, school nurses, and other staff members
  • Assist orthopedic providers at UNC Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Lenoir with patient care and education
  • Perform casting, splinting, and other DME services as needed
  • Answer patient clinical phone calls and complete disability paperwork
  • Provide patient education on home exercise programs and therapeutic exercise
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners or license eligible
  • BLS for healthcare providers
  • One (1) year of experience as an athletic trainer preferred
Work Environment

This is a per diem position with a variable work schedule. The successful candidate will work onsite at UNC Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Lenoir.
