The IT Security Specialist plays a vital role within the larger IT Security team, contributing to our mission of ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability throughout the Public Storage IT ecosystem. This position involves assisting with security audits, conducting risk assessments and analyses, and participating in the evaluation of IT security systems as necessary. The individual will thrive in a dynamic setting and must possess the flexibility to adapt priorities based on business requirements as directed by leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in initiatives to safeguard the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of the organization's technological infrastructure and information assets.
- Support and execute operational tasks related to Identity Management platforms, processing identity requests and associated actions.
- Assist in auditing current systems, including Windows, security monitoring, firewalls, intrusion detection, and remote access logs, analyzing network traffic, overseeing the company's virus protection measures, ensuring compliance with IT security policies, and coordinating responses to identified intrusions.
- Under supervision, aid in addressing security incidents involving servers and network devices. Contribute to regular security audits of critical information security systems and generate necessary supporting documentation. Participate in thorough security evaluations of applications, considering all layers.
- Support the organization's patch management protocols to guarantee that all systems comply with required updates.
- Assist in investigating attempted breaches and remedying vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
