Our R&D facilities, located within our Houston-area manufacturing sites, boast advanced electrical, mechanical, and electronic prototyping capabilities, as well as UL-certified high voltage and high current laboratories, allowing you to model and validate your designs in real-time.

We are currently looking for an Electronics Development Engineer to join our Research and Development department.

Your role will involve the development, validation, and technical support of industrial electronic products from initial concept through to full-scale production, as well as ongoing engineering for existing product lines.

This position will require collaboration with manufacturers, clients, and internal production and engineering teams.


You will be engaged in the development, validation, and technical support of industrial electronic products, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to customer-facing applications.

This will involve working closely with manufacturers, clients, and internal teams as necessary. Please note that this position does not offer sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities:


Based on defined specifications, create and implement a strategy for the design, development, and validation of industrial electronic products intended for switchgear applications.

This includes both new product initiatives and enhancements to existing offerings.

From general specifications, identify and evaluate alternative electronic components suitable for integration into pre-existing product designs.

Oversee and/or conduct validation and certification processes associated with the development of industrial electronic hardware.

Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.


Collaborate with the R&D Manager to establish a work plan for assigned tasks, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in execution.

Together with the R&D Manager, devise and implement strategies for the mass production of developed products.

Provide ongoing support for existing electronic products as required by both the company and its clientele.

Engage in collaborative efforts within the department and across functional teams to deliver the required electronic products.

Ensure compliance with company procedures and standards.

Continuously enhance your knowledge of emerging technologies to sustain and improve the company's product offerings.

Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned that align with the capabilities of the role.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial electronic product development role (Advanced degrees and relevant work experience, such as internships, may be considered).

Proven time management and organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in technical documentation and presentations.

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively (self-motivated and self-managing).

Membership in a professional society is preferred.

Required knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Microcontrollers used in embedded industrial applications.

Analog electronics signal processing.

Power supply design and power electronics.

Design for EMI/EMC and testing methodologies.

Integration of hardware and software.

Techniques for electronic mechanical construction and design.

Electrical switchgear and control gear for industrial power management, distribution, and protection.

Familiarity with the following is preferred:
Altium ECAD tools.

Autodesk Inventor.

Principles and operation of RTOS.

Embedded software development in 'C'.

PC-based software development.

Awareness of regulatory standards (ANSI, IEEE, IEC).

Working Conditions:
Typically involves working in a climate-controlled environment.

Physical requirements include talking, hearing, reaching, and the ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse.

To succeed in this role, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Some work may occur in laboratory and shop environments, with exposure to various elements.

Fieldwork may also be required, with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
