About the Position

Columbia Sportswear is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for creating memorable customer experiences while assisting the Store Leadership team in supporting our company mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Serve consumers by responding to their questions regarding product features, benefits, and availability, and assist with buying decisions.
  • Merchandise Management: Maintain store and visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety standards, and retrieve merchandise from stock rooms and other inventory locations to restock the sales floor.
  • Cash Handling: Perform cash register transactions efficiently and accurately, and connect consumers to our company loyalty programs.
  • Inventory Management: Contribute to the profitability of the store by receiving and processing incoming and outgoing products accurately and efficiently.
  • Product Knowledge: Acquire necessary knowledge about products, policies, procedures, and programs to execute day-to-day operations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 2 (or less) years of experience in a position or specialization, with experience interacting with and serving consumers.
  • Skill: Ability to operate Inventory and Point of Sales (POS) systems, and various other retail software tools.
  • Availability: Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Frequently in a more active environment that can be physical or strenuous, requiring the ability to constantly move about and adjust/move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with others.
