Tugger Operator - 1st Shift

This is a 1st shift position that requires the safe operation of powered stand-up and sit down industrial delivery equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with Area Managers and Team Leaders to ensure the overall effectiveness of the delivery system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate Equipment: Safely operate powered stand-up and sit down industrial delivery equipment to pick up and deliver small totes of materials for all plant departments.
  • Route Management: Drive a standardized route to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials.
  • Stock Management: Ensure all assembly operations are adequately stocked to prevent part shortages and downtime.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate part shortages and other critical information to the appropriate leaders throughout the facility.
  • Material Handling: Move materials in amounts to avoid personal injury, or damage to equipment, material, product, or the facility.
  • Label Interpretation: Interpret labels to ensure proper disposition of materials.
  • Battery Management: Effectively manage battery supply to avoid unplanned downtime of the Tugger.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain proper records.
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Perform daily shift inspection checks to ensure the Tugger is in proper working condition and report any safety or mechanical problems to an Area Manager or Team Leader.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and treat all team members with respect and dignity.
