Job Summary:
WakeMed is seeking a skilled Clinical Services Technician to join our team. As a Clinical Services Technician, you will play a critical role in the collection and processing of laboratory specimens, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process laboratory specimens from all age populations with minimal patient impact.
- Verify patient and specimen identification, as well as the appropriateness of specimens and accompanying orders.
- Organize laboratory workflow and prioritize the processing and distribution of specimens.
- Utilize equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test, request, accession, label, and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames.
- Perform specified procedures within the scope of established testing methods and responsibilities.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
Requirements:
- 1 year of clinical experience as a Phlebotomist or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Graduate Phlebotomy preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Work Schedule:
5:15am - 3:45pm, with every other weekend and 2-3 weekends per year.
