Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direct supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, RN, or NM/ANM to function as a member of the patient care team.
  • Perform technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting, coordinating all elements of the patient visit.
  • Support Family Medicine Clinic patients and work under the direct supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
  • Perform technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting, utilizing electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.

Requirements:

  • Certification, registration as a Medical Assistant, or completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
  • Previous EPIC experience and minimum 6 months ambulatory experience are highly desirable.
