Center Teacher

Join our team as a Center Teacher at the Community Action Committee of Pike County. As a key member of our Early Childhood Program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to young children.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Center Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children aged 3-5 years. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.

• Plan and implement engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 3-5 years.
• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Supervise and care for children at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
• Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and collaborative efforts.
• Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and other duties as required to maintain a smooth and efficient program.

• Early Childhood Degree (AA) or a qualifying degree with experience teaching preschool children.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 6.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Physical exam and/or T-8 exam.
• Updated immunizations.
• Three professional references.
• Permission to obtain a copy of a BCI and FBI background check.
• A signed Standards of Conduct Form.

• Early Childhood Degree (BA) or a qualifying degree with experience teaching preschool children.
• Additional experience working with children under the age of 6.

This position is in a well-lighted classroom environment with up to 20 children, 3 to 5 years of age. The work is fast-paced and requires the ability to lift 40 pounds, stand, stoop, and bend to interact at the child's level. Must be willing to engage in professional development efforts, including occasional overnight stays, as available to the position and requested by supervisor. This position includes moderate to high levels of stress.
