ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery plays a vital role in providing holistic care to patients and their families. Utilizing the nursing process, you will engage in critical thinking and problem-solving to ensure effective and appropriate care in a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge.
As part of our Family Birth Place, which is a level 3 facility within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals, you will work in a Joint Commission Certified environment for Perinatal Care, adhering to the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding.
The Family Birth Center features:
- 12-bed labor unit
- 2 operating rooms
- 14-bed private postpartum unit
- Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- 2 triage bays
With an average of deliveries per month, our department is supported by a team of 8 Nurse Shift Managers, a Perinatal Safety Nurse, and a Perinatal Nurse Educator.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Fetal monitoring experience
- Current CA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS & NRP certification from the American Heart Association
- NCC fetal monitoring certificate or completion of an Advanced Fetal Monitoring course within 12 months of hire
- Cesarean Section experience is preferred
Pay Range: $79.28/hour
