About the Role

The Staff Nurse Specialist will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes. You will be an essential part of our unit, providing direct and indirect patient care, and utilizing your expertise to improve clinical processes and promote safe patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Decision Making/Judgment
    • Demonstrate advanced clinical nursing knowledge and skill in the specialization of the unit.
    • Utilize evidence-based practice to make informed decisions about patient care.
    • Organize and reprioritize patient care activities based on subtle and overt changes.
  • Nurse-Patient Family Relationships
    • Develop and implement individualized teaching plans for patient populations.
    • Provide direct patient care to patients and families in a culturally, developmentally, and ethically appropriate manner.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching plans and make revisions as needed.
  • Clinical Scholarship
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives at the unit, department, or organizational level.
    • Support the use of evidence-based guidelines and organizational policies to promote safe patient care.
  • Clinical Leadership
    • Participate in shared governance and contribute to unit decision-making.
    • Delegate patient care activities appropriately and evaluate delegated tasks for expected outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience Requirements
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications
    • Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
    • CPR - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification.

Working Conditions

As a Staff Nurse Specialist at Luminis Health, you can expect a dynamic and supportive work environment. The physical demands of this role include medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $$76,500 - $106,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, tuition assistance benefits, employee referral bonus program, and more.
