Job Summary

The Optician will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction in the optical department. This individual will have a strong understanding of eyewear and contact lenses, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fit and dispense eyewear and contact lenses of varying complexity

  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • American Board of Opticianry / National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO/NCLE) certification preferred
  • Dispensing Optician state licensing preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a clinical environment or 3-5 years of experience with ABO/NCLE certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Work Environment

The Optician will work in a fast-paced optical department, interacting with patients, staff, and faculty. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients and staff, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
