Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Special Procedures Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
  • Operate all special procedures equipment and be proficient in selecting technical factors.
  • Always provide protection to patients and other team members in accordance with radiation safety standards.
  • Assist physician with special procedures such as vascular, neurological, and digital, utilizing specialized equipment.
  • Consistently produce images of high quality.
  • Control inventory and purchase of supplies for Special Procedure section.
  • Maintain room, supplies, and equipment in a ready state in order to increase overall efficiency of procedure.
  • Maintain records of special procedure examinations and other pertinent information on patients.
  • Observe patient and equipment during procedure and report any unusual occurrences.
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures when not scheduled to work in Special Procedure or CT area.
  • Rotate Call with a team of Special Procedure Technologists and report to the Department within thirty minutes of being called.
  • Rotate through CT Department when scheduled.
  • Upgrade charges for procedures and supplies via computer.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Possess current state licensure.
  • Two years experience in Special Procedure Technology.
