GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE The Luxury Beauty Consultant (LBC) plays a pivotal role in enhancing sales within the luxury segment (color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging customers to identify their unique needs and guiding them in the selection and purchase of premium products, while adhering to all company policies and procedures.

All responsibilities are executed while upholding overall store standards, including cleanliness and restocking.

This role supports the Sales Manager (SM) by focusing on performance (service/retail sales and in-store events), people (customer service and team culture), and process (operational procedures and compliance standards).

This position demands a passion for the beauty industry, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to learn and convey product knowledge effectively.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Functions)

The LBC is a representative of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values, and should exemplify them consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

Performance Contribute to achieving or surpassing the store's objectives related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty (including credit), retail shrink, and omni-channel sales, with a particular emphasis on the luxury segment and renowned brands as established by Ulta Beauty for the store.

Ensure that every customer receives exceptional service by fostering a welcoming environment, which includes greeting and engaging each customer, personalizing service to their needs, recommending complementary products and/or services, and informing customers of current promotions, events, and services available in the store.

Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges with courtesy. Regularly perform makeup applications, skincare assessments, and product demonstrations with customers to enhance sales and customer service experience.

Schedule appointments for, and assist in the execution of, services and in-store events that provide an unparalleled customer experience while achieving luxury and iconic brand sales targets.

Proactively stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work hours and be knowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these trends, products, and services to better assist customers.

Maintain prompt and regular attendance. People Foster an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and the internal and external customers served. Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help drive business growth.

Regularly engage in ongoing training, including luxury and iconic brand product training as directed and brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and enhance luxury sales performance.

Process Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards. Adhere to Ulta Beauty's dress code.

Drive sales by keeping the luxury and iconic brand work area stocked, signed, and organized, and ensuring testers are consistently available and maintained in accordance with hygiene standards.

Maintain exceptional store operational standards, including cleanliness of the sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area, ensuring that makeover stations comply with company standards at all times.

Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and processing shipments using Ulta Beauty's technology and best practices.

Share the advantages of the customer loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with customers on the sales floor and when prompted by Ulta Beauty's systems.

Safeguard company assets by adhering to loss prevention best practices and delivering exceptional customer service.

Execute other operational tasks as directed:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education A high school diploma is preferred. Cosmetology, esthetician, or demonstrators license where required by state law Experience 1 year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred Skills Demonstrates a passion and significant competency for luxury products, customer service, and sales Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team Strong communication skills SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Attend corporate business meetings and conferences, including overnight stays WORKING CONDITIONS Frequent mobility throughout the store during shifts Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and twisting during shifts Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs.
