Job Summary:

Piedmont is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Assistant, PRN to join our team. As a Lab Assistant, PRN, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA 88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Conduct venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtain/prepare blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
  • Assist technical staff in non-clinical tasks, such as maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure accurate and timely test results.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • No prior experience required, but one year of experience as a phlebotomist is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA, or equivalent agency is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy and clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of clinical laboratory operations and procedures is preferred.
