This role plays a vital part in supporting the operations of our medical front office team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills.
About the Role:
This position involves assisting patients with scheduling appointments, checking them in/out, verifying insurance information, collecting co-pays, and maintaining accurate medical records. The selected candidate will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, working collaboratively with other staff members, and adhering to Lean processes. As a key member of our team, you will support the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, family members, and guests.
- Assist patients with signing in and completing registration, entering and scanning demographic and insurance information into Epic.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefit information, inform patients of insurance benefits, collect co-payments and patient balances.
- Answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner, direct calls, and take messages.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of experience working in a medical front office position, and intermediate-level computer proficiency. You should also be able to travel to training workshops and other offices as needed for coverage. Soft skills such as the ability to work independently, maintain good judgment and accountability, and prioritize tasks effectively are essential. Estimated salary: $16.54 - $32.55 per hour.
