Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care) or Physician Assistant to join our Critical Care team at Cleveland Clinic Health System. As a critical care specialist, you will provide primary and specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings, working in collaboration with the healthcare team to promote health, prevent disease, and diagnose and treat acute and chronic health problems.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough medical histories and perform complete physical examinations to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Work in collaboration with the healthcare team to provide patient care, including ordering lab tests, radiology tests, and other special tests as indicated.
- Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.
- Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by license through applicable state board and Cleveland Clinic policies.
- Educate patients and answer questions regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards.
- Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with nursing, medical, and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care.
- Refer patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and continuity of care.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in applicable state(s).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting.
- Must have arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with requirements set forth by the State Board of Nursing in applicable state(s).
