The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in aiding the Store Manager in managing the daily functions and sales of a bustling convenience retail establishment.

The Assistant Store Manager is additionally tasked with supporting the financial operations of the store, which includes overseeing and analyzing sales and inventory levels.


Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement

Welcomes and engages with both new and returning customers in a sincere manner, recommending products that enhance their shopping experience.

Delivers prompt, efficient, and courteous service while effectively managing any conflicts that may arise.
Builds and maintains positive, professional relationships with colleagues and customers, communicating respectfully and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Addresses customer inquiries and concerns during assigned shifts.
Financial Oversight
Assists in managing inventory and the distribution of products, materials, and supplies.
Collaborates with the Store Manager to determine the types and quantities of products to be purchased, stocked, and sold.
Team Leadership
Exemplifies the core values and leadership principles of RaceTrac to the entire team.
Supports the Store Manager in overseeing store operations.
Directs, organizes, and allocates tasks among team members during designated shifts.
Supervises, mentors, trains, and develops store personnel.
Provides constructive feedback on employee performance and growth to the Store Manager.
Operational Excellence
Maintains inventory in an orderly and organized fashion.
Monitors compliance with all safety regulations, including those related to food safety.
Participates in daily operational tasks as necessary: operates the cash register and reconciles cash and inventory transactions.
Ensures the store is clean and well-kept.
Restocks shelves and coolers and conducts inventory checks on shelf items.
Receives deliveries from vendors.
Orders necessary inventory and supplies.


Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and able to bend, stand, and reach repeatedly throughout the workday, with minimal breaks.


Qualifications:
3-5 years of relevant work experience preferred
1+ years of management experience preferred
Experience in vendor management preferred
Prior experience in a high-volume, customer-focused, transactional setting preferred
1+ years of experience in a retail environment preferred
