Job Summary

This role is eligible to participate in Zenith's hybrid work schedule, providing the flexibility to work from home on select days of the week according to the in-office schedule established by regional executive leadership. Selected candidates must be able to report into the regional branch office on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of company liability concerning claims and attempt to effect settlement with claimants.
  • Correspond with or interview medical specialists, agents, witnesses, or claimants to compile information.
  • Calculate benefit payments and approve payment of claims within a certain monetary limit.
  • Perform tasks with the goal of demonstrating Zenith's superior claims handling expertise.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Work under technical direction on assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination.
  • Manage assigned cases within guidelines of published performance standards.
  • Open new claims, complete three-point contact, and perform needed investigations to determine compensability and possible subrogation or apportionment.
  • Set appropriate reserves according to Zenith's timeframes and guidelines.
  • Follow procedures for system documentation to preserve data integrity.
  • Monitor and maintain accuracy of reserves over the life of the claim.
  • Create and execute action plans to bring cases to closure.
  • Complete detailed settlement evaluations and recommend appropriate settlement value.
  • Maintain regular contact with injured workers, employers, and agents to develop positive relationships and establish credibility.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
  • Respond positively to direction and criticism of performance.
  • Maintain a professional and appropriate demeanor.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience preferred.
  • 1+ Years claims or insurance experience preferred.
  • Previous workers' compensation experience required.
  • Basic technical workers' compensation claims knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on telephone communication required.
  • Strong math and reading skills required.
  • Meet all state regulatory standards regarding licensing, continuing education, and other requirements.
Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $72,967.82-$91, with actual pay adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
