About the Role

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our stores, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the breakroom and all restrooms, including sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash and recycling.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning up spills and messes.
  • Assist with the rotation and cleaning of dairy shelves, and the cleaning of glass dairy and frozen food doors.
  • Sweep the parking lot with designated equipment, and perform minor repairs of equipment and fixtures as needed.
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks as needed, and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all areas of the store are clean and organized, and that all equipment and fixtures are in good working order.
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements, and be able to lift up to 40 pounds approximately 50% of the time.
  • Ability to stand/walk 100% of the time, and frequent reaching and lifting (mop buckets, spills).
  • Ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials/substances, and push/pull up to 40 pounds regularly.
Preferred Requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the internal and external store and property.
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the equipment used in the performance of this job function.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
