Position Overview:

The Pediatric Nutrition Specialist collaborates with a diverse healthcare team to enhance wellness, sustain health, and address both acute and chronic conditions in children. This role employs the Nutrition Care Process to deliver exceptional care to patients with intricate health challenges requiring specialized nutritional support. The Dietitian operates within established professional guidelines and is accountable for achieving patient outcomes that align with the high standards upheld by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the nutritional status and requirements of pediatric patients, guiding the interdisciplinary team in formulating comprehensive care plans.
  • Design, implement, and assess nutritional interventions tailored to the patient and family, aiming for optimal clinical results.
  • Provide counseling to patients and families regarding their nutritional care plans, fostering understanding and collaboration.
  • Document anticipated outcomes, measurable goals, and interventions performed, assisting clinical practitioners in care coordination.
  • Coordinate the supply of nutritional foods or formulas with relevant services to ensure the effective delivery of patient nutrition.
  • Analyze and apply current research related to nutritional care, sharing insights with the interdisciplinary team to promote evidence-based practices.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance processes and patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the education of medical professionals, clinical staff, and dietetic interns, promoting best practices in nutrition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • State licensure in Dietetics/Nutrition.
  • Preferred one year of experience in a clinical environment.
  • Willingness to travel for outreach assignments as needed.
