Family Coach

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Coach to join our Hermiston Self-Sufficiency team.
About the Role:
As a Family Coach, you will work closely with Oregon families to provide resources and services that help them overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. You will conduct interviews to determine family need and eligibility, explore alternate resources, and link clients to community services. You will also complete program applications, issue support payments, and engage clients in family evaluation of strengths.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews to determine family need and eligibility
- Explore alternate resources and link clients to community services
- Complete program applications and issue support payments
- Engage clients in family evaluation of strengths and develop case plans
- Monitor progress and make necessary modifications to case plans
- Initiate and participate in case staffing, employment readiness, life skills training, and job search support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field
- OR Bachelor's degree in any field and one year of human services related experience
- OR Associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience
- OR Three years of human services related experience
- Valid driver's license or other acceptable method of transportation
- Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with high volume of individual and family contact
- Work with diverse range of people, including those experiencing emotional and financial stress
- May work with domestic violence survivors and require trauma-informed approach
- Employee's work is conducted in offices, participant's homes, and other community sites
- Overtime must be pre-approved

- Experience with motivational interviewing and strength-based case management
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, self-motivated and continuous learner
- Experience successfully organizing work efficiently and managing multiple tasks with interruptions
- Experience explaining complex rules, regulations, processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of ODHS programs and community resources
