Psychiatrist - Tele

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Wexford Health Sources, Inc. as a Telemedicine Psychiatrist. As a key member of our correctional healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric services to patients in a correctional setting.

• Deliver contracted services, personnel, and coordination of psychiatric/behavioral health services and programs.
• Serve as the behavioral health liaison between Wexford Health and the correctional system.
• Support and provide direction for the psychiatric and behavioral health care delivery system and coordinate with other functions within the institution.
• Ensure compliance with ACA/NCCHC standards, as appropriate, and correctional system regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Develop operational psychiatric and behavioral health plans and policies.
• Assist with the monitoring of the activities of the behavioral health staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Interview behavioral health personnel as needed.
• Meet regularly with the site mental health staff to ensure appropriate provision of services.
• Coordinate training for behavioral health and institutional staff on mental health issues as requested.
• Assure that all parole evaluations are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
• Follow and enforce security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Adhere to and enforce safety and security policies and participate in disaster drills.
• Attend mandatory and optional in-service training.
• Participate in and conduct in-service programs; assist in orientation of new staff.

• Current VA State Medical license required.
• Current VA Controlled Substance license required.
• Current DEA required.
• Board Certification - American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology required; CPR certification required.
• Medical degree with psychiatry residency required.
• 3 years experience in an institutional healthcare setting preferred. Correctional healthcare experience preferred.
