This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration team as a Physician - Neurology Specialist. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to Veterans with dementia.
Responsibilities- Provide outpatient neurologic consultations and develop treatment plans for Veterans with dementia.
- Collaborate with other cognitive specialists from neurology, geriatrics, geriatric psychiatry, and social work services in the interdisciplinary management of dementia patients.
- Participate in research activities under the umbrella of the state-of-the-art VA Brain Health Center and National Coordinating Center for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias.
- Refer patients to subspecialists as needed, with access to EEG/EMG testing, neurology inpatient service, and an epilepsy monitoring unit.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Must have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Competitive salary and annual performance bonus.
- 50-55 days of paid time off per year.
- Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
- Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Subject to change based on agency needs).
