The Clinical Nutrition Specialist is responsible for the design and execution of the nutrition services program at Talent Search PRO, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team (IDT). This role includes providing nutrition services such as assessments and counseling to participants, acting as a key liaison between the organization and food service providers, developing meal plans, and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations regarding meal preparation and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments to identify the needs, preferences, and objectives of participants, actively engaging in IDT meetings to formulate participant care strategies.
- Implement and document direct nutrition interventions as per physician directives and/or as outlined in the care plans, which may include managing special dietary requirements and offering nutrition counseling to participants and their families.
- Supervise menu development and meal service operations to guarantee compliance with safety and regulatory standards, ensuring participants receive the appropriate diets as specified.
- Lead the nutrition team, which encompasses recruitment, training, supervision, and mentorship.
- Facilitate the intake and enrollment process to ensure prospective participants progress through enrollment efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian with a minimum of two (2) years of experience managing nutrition services in a comparable environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / First Aid Certification is mandatory.
- Possession of reliable transportation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, particularly in interactions with seniors, their families, and IDT members.
- Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience working with frail or elderly populations.
