Job Title: Medical Telemetry Nurse

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a skilled Medical Telemetry Nurse to join our team at Mercy Hospital. As a Medical Telemetry Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to a diverse population of patients ranging from ages 18 to 100+ years old.

Job Summary

The Medical Telemetry Nurse will work in our 7M Medical Telemetry Unit, caring for patients who have peg tubes, foley catheters, central lines, and tracheostomies, are post-heart catheterization, require wound care, have drug and alcohol addictions, or have mental illnesses and are waiting for placement at a psychiatric facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs
  • Educate patients and their families
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One-year of current acute care RN experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements

The Medical Telemetry Nurse will require full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. The nurse will also require standing and walking for extended periods of time, corrected vision and hearing to normal range, and working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

The nurse will be exposed to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. The physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

The nurse will follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
