Water Aerobics Instructor Opportunity

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Water Aerobics Instructor to join our team. As a leading non-profit organization, we focus on empowering people in all forms by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.

This position supports the work of the Y, a charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and instruct water fitness classes in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Instruct water fitness classes for a variety of skill levels.
• Prepare lesson plans.
• Give clear directions, cues, and demonstrations.
• Create a safe and positive atmosphere.
• Promote member safety and engagement.
• Help others improve flexibility, strength, endurance, and cardiovascular conditioning.

Requirements:

• One year or more related experience preferred.
• Previous experience working with adults and diverse populations.
• Ability to demonstrate water fitness skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Confidence in the water.
• Current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).
• Ability to pass Background and Reference checks.
