Position Overview:

The Youth Program Clinician plays a vital role in delivering trauma-informed care through structured group sessions tailored for juvenile offenders. This position collaborates closely with various institutional staff to ensure effective program implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate both group and individual therapeutic sessions for participants.
  • Assess and document the progress of participants, creating personalized treatment plans.
  • Engage with participants daily, reinforcing program rules and expectations.
  • Contribute to case discussions, guiding participants in setting educational and vocational goals based on their interests.
  • Oversee treatment plan development and conduct ongoing assessments of clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of service delivery.
  • Collaborate with institutional staff and mentors during group activities.
  • Provide clinical verification of internship hours for registered staff and mentors.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Youth Program Clinician position should possess:

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant social service or mental health field with a minimum of one year of experience in a licensed program, or a Master's Degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Current licensure by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, in good standing.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse issues and their psychological, physical, and social impacts.
  • Familiarity with program objectives and best practices for implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Empathy and the ability to build rapport with participants to facilitate positive change.
  • Professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.
  • A commitment to working the designated shift hours.
