About the RoleThis registered nurse position plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to patients across various age groups. As an RN Per Diem II, you will work within the nursing process to deliver direct care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Patient Care: Deliver safe and effective direct care to assigned patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Policy Adherence: Work within hospital policies, nursing division guidelines, and departmental protocols to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, considering age-specific needs and discharge planning.
- Tests and Procedures: Assist with special tests and procedures, obtaining proper consent as required.
- Participation: Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel, assuming evaluation responsibilities upon successful completion.
- Emergency Measures: Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients.
- Medical Records: Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information.
- Inquiries: Answer telephones and triage calls according to departmental policy.
- Medication Administration: Administer medication via the Seven Rights, documenting and communicating clinical findings.
- Environment: Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Professional Growth: Enhance professional growth through educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Education: A nationally accredited nursing graduate, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of directly related experience, with bilingual skills (English and Spanish) a plus.
- Credentials: Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement by New Mexico, CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification, and other certifications as required.
This role requires heavy work exertion, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds and frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds. You will also work in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to chemicals and bio-hazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).
The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $72,000, based on industry standards and location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
