Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Door Production Specialist to join our team at Alliance Door Products. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating prepared components into pre-hung door units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Assembly: Prepare materials or merchandise for assembly by gathering prescribed materials from stock using forklifts, hand trucks, and rolling carts. Set materials in designated areas for packaging.
- Machining and Assembly: Machining and/or assembling various millwork products by operating machinery that alters the product and staging products in preparation for shipment.
- Resizing and Cutting: Resize/cut jambs to proper size as per work order and sizing chart.
- Quality Control: Correctly hand all jambs and stage them in the designated manufacturing area.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Basic analytical, reasoning, and math skills, including fractions.
- Construction Experience: Experience in the construction field.
- Physical Demands: Able to stand (8-9 hours per day), walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift items up to 70 pounds. Collaborate in team lifts for objects between 70 and 150 pounds, and maneuver items weighing up to 150 pounds.
- Tool Proficiency: Willing to become comfortable using chops saws, table saws, rip saws, hand saws, routers, nail guns, door machines, and various pneumatic tools and drills.
- Door Shop Experience: Door shop experience that will allow you to assemble interior and exterior pre-hung, determine the height of jambs and width of the head based on the net unit size and/or net slab height, assemble double door units with or without sidelites, measure, cut, and apply brickmold, read and understand work orders, and knowledge of proper gaps and other industry standards.
