Position Summary
The lead technician will oversee the daily operations of the maintenance team, allocate tasks, guide maintenance personnel, and strive to reduce delays while enhancing productivity and efficiency. This role involves leading and coordinating the diagnosis, adjustment, repair, inspection, troubleshooting, and overhaul of aircraft systems, engines, electrical systems, and avionics.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor aircraft maintenance issues, troubleshoot problems, and procure necessary parts to ensure seamless operation and turnover of each aircraft.
- Act as a liaison with pilots to discuss maintenance log entries made by flight crews.
- Verify that all departing aircraft meet airworthiness standards in compliance with regulatory requirements and company manuals.
- Ensure all maintenance work is accurately documented and that all necessary equipment for flight conditions is onboard and secured.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the assigned maintenance department, supervising all operations.
- Inspect and repair open job items and conduct routine maintenance.
- Diagnose and assess defects in aircraft.
- Engage in hands-on work while also delegating tasks to team members.
- Interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical schematics.
- Overhaul and test components to guarantee operational efficiency.
- Adjust, repair, or overhaul equipment as necessary.
- Identify faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.
- Review and evaluate the work performed by staff members.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
- Possession of a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate for a minimum of 5 years.
- Valid Passport and Driver's License, with the ability to meet hiring requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and supervisory roles within a hangar or line environment.
- Thorough understanding of relevant regulations, manuals, safety standards, and airworthiness criteria.
- Must possess a personal toolbox and necessary tools.
- Experience with Piper Navajo Chieftain, Beechcraft, and Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft is preferred.
- Must complete company fleet familiarization and handling within 6 months of employment.
- Proficiency in ground handling company aircraft within 1 month of hire.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends.
