Job Title: Special Education Teacher

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to students with special needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and implement instructional processes for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver instruction, implement curriculum materials, and develop daily lesson plans that reflect state and school requirements
  • Establish a collaborative environment for students, parents, and staff
  • Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs and reinforcement systems
  • Record student progress, maintain student files, and prepare reports
  • Provide direct subject-based instruction and co-teach curricular subjects as required in IEPs
  • Modify curriculum and assist with differentiated instruction for students and staff
  • Use various instructional strategies and resources to respond to diverse student needs
  • Act as case manager for special education students and update IEPs and goals as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field
  • Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements
  • Licensed in or have the ability to obtain a special education credential
  • Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in a classroom setting
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, and/or other related disabilities
  • Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with IEPs
  • Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
