Job Description

The Michigan Milk Producers Association is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and implementing effective internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing detailed analysis and commentary on financial results.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and enhance month-end summary decks, budget, and forecast decks to effectively communicate financial performance.
  • Maintain and enhance the company's accounting systems and processes.
  • Manage the cost accounting team and develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory filings.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • ERP experience, Microsoft AX or D365 preferred.
