Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging nursing courses in a classroom setting to equip students for certification as nursing aides.
- Facilitate student learning and provide essential clinical oversight.
- Review and update course materials and curriculum as necessary to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Maintain precise records of student progress and performance.
- Represent the institution at various community functions and events.
- Foster strong partnerships with local community organizations.
Qualifications:
- Required: Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid Virginia license and possess a minimum of 2 years of RN experience within the last 5 years, including at least 1 year in a long-term care setting.
- Experience in caring for geriatric populations is essential.
- Excellent communication skills are a must.
- Willingness to teach at various times and locations as needed.
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
- Preferred: Familiarity with educational technology, prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level, and understanding of Virginia Board of Nursing regulations for Nurse Aide programs.
