Job Title: Planned Giving Officer/Sr. Planned Giving Officer

About the Role:

Auburn Advancement is seeking a skilled Planned Giving Officer to join our philanthropy team. In this role, you will work to secure outright, blended, and deferred gifts, devising high-level technical strategies and leveraging your knowledge of estate planning, taxation, charitable estate planning, and gift planning vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and manage relationships with planned giving prospects, engaging donors through personalized interactions and trust-building exercises.
  • Develop individualized giving plans in collaboration with donors and their financial and legal advisors, ensuring alignment with both donor values and financial goals, as well as the university's needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws, estate planning, and charitable giving trends to provide expert advice and options to donors.
  • Champion philanthropy by engaging donors about the transformative impact of their contributions, helping them understand how their gift shapes the future of the university.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-7 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, and/or public relations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred designations: CFP, CLU, ChFC, CPA, JD, CAP.
