Job Summary:The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to adults, adolescents, and children. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and best practices in psychiatric care.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify treatment needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue medications and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and other treatment team members to coordinate client care and ensure seamless transitions between services.
- Document and maintain accurate and timely medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, outcome measures, and billing entries.
- Provide counseling and education to clients and their families to promote understanding and support of mental health conditions and treatment plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress, treatment plans, and other relevant topics.
- Stay current with best practices in psychiatric care and participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric nursing.
- Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in psychiatry/mental health.
- At least 1-2 years of experience providing direct client care to individuals with mental health disorders.
- Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH) as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (CRNP-PMH).
- Unrestricted license to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state of Maryland.
- Valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license in Maryland.
- Registration with the state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) in Maryland.
