We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team at Bound Brook School District.
Job Summary:The School Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students, including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management, and referrals. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide health assessments and screenings for students
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with special needs
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, parents, and school staff to ensure access and continuity of care for students
- Conduct school programs of immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing
- Perform nursing assessments for students who are ill or injured, and provide first aid and nursing care as needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with state and federal law, and Board of Education policies
- Develop and implement health education programs for students, parents, and staff
- Registered professional nurse (R.N.) license in the state
- Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred
- Experience working with pediatric population, preferably in a community or school setting
The School Nurse will work in a standard school building environment, with frequent travel between schools required. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
