Position Overview

This role is situated within the RCFE division at the Veterans Home of California-Redding.

To qualify for this position, candidates must successfully complete an examination for Licensed Vocational Nurse to establish eligibility prior to receiving a job offer. Further details can be found on the relevant website.


Licensing:

A valid LVN license is mandatory for this position.


Post and Bid Compliance:

This position adheres to the Post and Bid requirements applicable to Bargaining Unit 20.


Application Review Schedule:

Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis, with cut-off periods occurring on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Working Conditions

Overtime may be required, either voluntarily or mandatorily, as part of this position.

  • Vaccination Requirements:
    • In compliance with current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Orders and/or Department of Social Services (DSS) PINs, employees in various healthcare environments, including those at Veterans Homes, must be vaccinated against COVID-19, including the booster, or submit a declination form.
  • Mandatory Testing:
    • Staff who are not fully vaccinated or have submitted a declination form will be subject to semi-weekly testing.
    • Additional testing may be mandated for both vaccinated and unvaccinated staff based on current CDPH orders, DSS Pins, and/or CalOSHA guidelines, which are subject to change.
    • If selected for employment, candidates may be required to present proof of vaccination to the hiring supervisor or designee during the pre-employment process. While vaccination status will not influence hiring decisions, start dates will not be negotiated until vaccination or exemption requirements are submitted and approved.
  • Face Coverings:
    • While working on-site at any CalVet facility, employees must adhere to the current face covering guidelines issued by the California Department of Public Health. Employees in counties with stricter local health ordinances must comply with those local regulations.
