PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:

The Restaurant Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing all facets of store management and operations.
  • Ensure all aspects of a Jimmy John's restaurant function smoothly, delivering outstanding customer service and high-quality products while maintaining profitability.
  • Direct the efficient execution of prompt, accurate sandwich preparation and exceptional customer service, all while upholding a clean and organized environment.
  • Engage effectively with various levels within the organization and the broader Jimmy John's community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set labor targets and staffing requirements, including compensation structures.
  • Supervise a team of approximately 3 to 15 staff members, assigning tasks, overseeing performance, and conducting evaluations.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, assessment, discipline, and separation of employees.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new hires.
  • Oversee the ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies to minimize losses due to waste or theft.
  • Supervise food preparation, sales, and service operations.
  • Order sufficient food items to meet expected customer demand.
  • Ensure that every customer receives top-tier service.
  • Coordinate deliveries and assist drivers to optimize delivery efficiency.
  • Implement systems and procedures with complete integrity and thoroughness.
  • Complete daily and weekly administrative tasks.
  • Accountable for cash drawer management throughout the shift.
  • Enforce corporate policies.
  • Manage inventory through a weekly inventory system and maintain regular ordering schedules.
  • Receive and store products appropriately.
  • Conduct weekly management meetings.
  • Audit operational systems and procedures as well as end-of-shift paperwork.
  • Arrange for preventive maintenance and upkeep of store equipment and supplies.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
ADDITIONAL TASKS AS TIME ALLOWS
  • Assist in-store staff during peak periods to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Support staff in welcoming customers, processing orders, operating the cash register, assembling orders, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Carry out daily food preparation tasks (opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing, bread production).
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, work independently, and achieve objectives without supervision.
  • Aptitude for resolving customer and employee issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and various software applications (Word / Excel).
  • Ability to manage stress and operate in high-volume environments.
  • Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others, motivate staff, and engage with customers.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
  • High school diploma or equivalent training.
  • Completion of recommended corporate training programs.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Experience in a retail food environment is advantageous.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This position requires bending, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Must possess the stamina to work a minimum of 50-60 hours per week.
