We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Host/Hostess to join our team As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and guests.
**About the Role:**
This is a full-time seasonal position that requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for greeting members and guests, seating them at tables, and ensuring that they have an exceptional dining experience.
**Responsibilities:**
* Greet members and guests warmly and efficiently
* Seat members and guests at tables or in waiting areas
* Provide menus and inform members of their server's name upon seating
* Record member names and party sizes and provide estimated waiting times when necessary
* Assign members to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation
* Locate waiting parties when tables become available
* Speak with members to ensure satisfaction with food and service, respond to complaints, or make conversation
* Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls
* Receive and record member dining reservations
* Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and members to ensure that dining details are handled properly
* Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
* Inform members of establishment specialties and features
* Direct members to coatrooms and waiting areas such as lounges
* Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed
* Thank members as they leave and invite them to return
* Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
* Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet member needs and support restaurant operations
* Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations
**Requirements:**
* 1 year prior experience in food service
* Familiarity with computerized order systems
* Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 35 lbs daily
* Standing for long periods of time
* Working split shifts and shifts that may exceed 12 hours in duration
* Working various shifts including weekends and holidays
