Custodian/Mover

Cranbrook Educational Community is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian/Mover to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for delivering, setting up, and tearing down materials and furniture, as well as performing project cleaning and other related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading, delivery, and unloading of materials, equipment, and furnishings
• Set up and tear down of materials, equipment, and furnishings
• Project cleaning and other related duties
• Regular housekeeping duties
• Completing daily maintenance and other logs and reports
• Delivering mail and packages for the mail room
• Cleaning trucks on assigned schedule or as needed
• Maintaining equipment clean, orderly, and in good repair
• Communicating vehicle and equipment repair to supervisor
• Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and policies regulating safety and load limits

Requirements:

• Prior experience in making deliveries and/or completing housekeeping tasks
• Ability to use small tools for assembling furniture and equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to operate power equipment as related to housekeeping tasks
• Valid Michigan driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Good organizational skills for completing logs, reporting hours, filling out work orders, and other necessary reports
