POSITION OVERVIEW
- Security Architect with expertise in NERC compliance.
- Accountable for designing, architecting, and assessing security frameworks to safeguard critical infrastructure.
- This role will collaborate with project teams to develop security architectures aimed at protecting substations and solar installations while interfacing with corporate systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Implementation:
Formulate and execute security architectures for IT initiatives, ensuring compliance with NERC standards and alignment with organizational objectives.
Firewall Management:
Architect, configure, and make strategic decisions regarding firewall solutions to secure network perimeters and facilitate safe data transmission.
Interface Security:
Develop security protocols for connections between external systems and the corporate environment to guarantee secure integration and data transfer.
Collaboration:
Partner closely with IT and security teams to design, implement, and oversee security measures.
Project Assignments and Security Assessments:
- The contractor will be tasked with creating a comprehensive list of security requirements and developing a checklist for each new project to identify impacted areas.
Utilization of the Spreadsheet:
- Participate in the Architecture Review Board to pinpoint projects requiring verification through the aforementioned spreadsheet.
- In cases of non-compliance, collaborate with the project team and engage other architects to devise a technical solution.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk team to obtain insights from their risk assessments for projects categorized as high risk.
- Work alongside the project team and other architects to mitigate or lower risks through architectural changes.
- Partner with the Security Architect in designing firewall and security controls for substations.
- This is an ongoing effort requiring close collaboration to support the aforementioned initiatives.
